Summary Of Application Areas Of Dolomite

Dolomite can be used in papermaking, agriculture, chemical industry, metallurgy, building materials and glass industries.

(1) Papermaking Filler

Dolomite powder can be obtained after sorting, crushing and grinding of dolomite ore, which can be used as filler in paper industry after surface modification. Using dolomite instead of calcium carbonate as a filler in papermaking can not only improve paper performance, but also reduce costs.

(2) Paint

Dolomite powder can be used as a pigment filler in the coating industry, which can improve the weather resistance, oil absorption and scrub resistance of the coating, and can improve the suspension stability of the coating;

(3) Cement

After the light-burned dolomite prepared at a certain calcination temperature is mixed with Portland cement, its mechanical properties are better than those of Portland cement mixed with activated magnesia and limestone powder alone.

(4) Glass

Dolomite is one of the main raw materials for the production of glass, the particle size should be in the range of 0.15-2mm, and the iron content of dolomite should be less than 0.10%.
